The company Küng, Sigg & Cie was founded in Biel in 1908. In 1917 the company moved to Frauenfeld in Eastern Switzerland, where the company still has its headquarters. Originally, SIGG bottles, known for their long-lasting quality and complete recyclability, were particularly popular among alpinists and hikers.
